Music at St Mary's

"Make a joyful noise unto the Lord", Psalm 100 commands us: "Come before his presence with singing."
Here at St Mary's, there is music all around, thanks to the many dedicated singers and musicians who serve at our services and other occasions.

We are fortunate at St Mary's to have Tim Smith as our Director of Music. Thanks to his hard work, we have a strong choir who lead our worship every week.

Tim also leads St Mary's Music Group, an instrumental ensemble comprising amateur and professional musicians as well as several talented young players. Their main role is to play at the monthly Family Eucharist service (fourth Sundays of the month, 10.30 am). Tim not only leads the group and plays the piano; he also arranges all the music - for instruments as diverse as flute, French horn and cello!

The bells of St Mary's have sounded over Harrow for centuries and are still rung every week by our team of talented bellringers.

In addition to our tower bellringers, St Mary's also has its own team of handbell ringers, whose contribution to Christmas services and many other events makes them a firm favourite.
